Meet Heath Granas

My name is Heath Granas and I am running to be your voice on the city council for Ward 3.

I’m originally from New Jersey and moved to Washington, D.C. to attend American University. After obtaining a bachelor’s degree in Political Science, I started my career as a Staff Assistant for a former United States Senator from New Jersey. I subsequently honed my skills as a Legislative Affairs Assistant within the Government Relations department of the American Cancer Society, contributing to their impactful advocacy initiatives.

In 2005 I decided to move away from politics to realize my aspiration of becoming a Flight Attendant, and I couldn’t be happier. I’ve had the privilege of traversing the globe, which has fostered a profound appreciation for diverse cultures and experiences. My job has also further bolstered my communication skills and ability to resolve conflicts. Teamwork and elevated customer service skills are essential for my job, all of which I am poised to leverage in my civic service.

In June of 2021, my husband and I moved to Newburyport. Because of our amazing neighbors and the beauty of the town, we already feel rooted and consider Newburyport to be our forever home.

Fueled by a passion for public service and a love for our city, I am certain I will make a meaningful impact on the council. My background, encompassing both the political landscape and aviation industry, uniquely equips me to address the many challenges facing our community. I am confident that my experience will be an asset to the City Council.

My sleeves are rolled up, and I am ready to contribute tirelessly to the betterment of our Ward and for all of Newburyport.
